Role Overview

The Electrical Chargehand role is a full-time, onsite supervisory position located in Doha. The role involves overseeing and coordinating electrical activities on construction projects, ensuring work is executed according to specifications, safety standards, and regulations. Key tasks include guiding electricians and helpers, allocating tasks, and monitoring quality and progress. The Chargehand interprets drawings and schematics, verifies material and tool availability, troubleshoots electrical issues, and maintains collaboration with other trades to support smooth site operations and meet deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong leadership and team coordination skills to manage electrical workers and monitor performance.
• Experience with heavy electrical tools and equipment used for installation, testing, and maintenance on-site.
• Effective communication abilities to engage with site management, colleagues, subcontractors, and report progress or challenges.
• Competence in maintenance tasks including regular inspections, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems or components.
• Basic understanding of related trades such as carpentry to effectively coordinate electrical work alongside structural and finishing activities.
• Relevant technical qualification in electrical trade such as a diploma or certificate, and prior experience in construction or contracting settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, permit-to-work systems, and local electrical codes applicable in Qatar or GCC countries is advantageous.
• Capability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions and adapt to evolving project demands and schedules.
