Position Overview
Located on Muckross Road, Gleneagle Killarney, a reputable establishment celebrated as a Great Place to Work and an outstanding employer by Failte Ireland, seeks a dedicated Duty Manager to be part of its Management Team. The Gleneagle brand is distinguished by its comprehensive event spaces accommodating corporate and entertainment events, alongside leisure amenities, diverse food and beverage options, and self-catering apartments within the premises.
Our clientele includes families on leisure vacations, conference attendees, concert-goers, and visitors with special interests, requiring the Duty Manager to be flexible and responsive to a range of guest needs. The role offers valuable experience with varied daily responsibilities. Over 80% of our managerial staff and 98% of supervisors have been promoted from within, highlighting clear pathways for career progression supported by thorough training.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking complete charge of the hotel during early or late shifts ensuring all departments are operational, well-prepared, and inviting to guests.
- Providing support to various departments, especially food and beverage, during peak times.
- Handling a broad spectrum of guest inquiries effectively.
- Participating actively as a full management team member, offering assistance where required.
- Conducting daily security inspections, preparing daily operational reports and handover summaries.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A tertiary qualification in Management, Hospitality, or a related discipline is desirable but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in a management capacity within hospitality or retail sectors.
- Strong team collaboration skills coupled with excellent communication abilities.
- Capability to operate independently and take initiative.
- Enthusiasm for professional growth and openness to new learning opportunities.
