Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser to join the pharmacy team at one of our stores. This role involves supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure the accurate and safe delivery of pharmacy services. The Dispenser will engage with patients by greeting them, dispensing prescriptions safely, and offering advice to help them make informed health decisions.
Core Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately, ensuring safe medicine supply including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and collection processes.
- Collaborate with pharmacy colleagues to manage and deliver comprehensive pharmacy services within the store.
- Offer care and guidance to patients about their medications, referring questions to the Pharmacist when necessary.
- Operate within established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to uphold the legal and safe dispensing of prescriptions.
- Stay informed of store innovations and operational updates to maintain compliance and enhance service.
- Assist patients in managing prescriptions effectively and promoting medication adherence to prevent waste.
Technology and Development
The role involves working with new dispensing technologies to enhance patient safety and efficiency, allowing more patient interaction time. Continuous training and development will be provided, with opportunities to advance into Pharmacy Technician roles or store leadership positions.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of Pharmacy Advisor qualification (NVQ2 or equivalent) or actively pursuing and having completed the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Valid UK right to work; the role does not support Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.
- Experience in community pharmacy settings is desirable but not mandatory.
Compensation
The hourly wage ranges from £13.92 to £16.64 depending on location within London.
