Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Directs Store Delivery Associate offers the chance to gain substantial experience in a fast-moving retail environment. This role involves coordinating and swiftly managing direct and local merchandise to guarantee prompt placement on the sales floor, which supports a seamless shopping experience and boosts customer satisfaction and retention. It is especially suited for those eager to engage in customer service or retail operations.
Key Duties
- Secure high-value merchandise at specified locations following company guidelines.
- Promptly receive and handle direct shipments including OMNI merchandise, alcohol, and warehouse deliveries to maintain efficient stock flow to sales areas.
- Keep the receiving area tidy and well-organized by preparing returns, processing claims, managing MTRs, and ensuring precise documentation.
- Adhere to safe work protocols, employing correct lifting methods and safely operating equipment like box cutters, pallet jacks, and ladders.
- Collaborate closely with Operations Manager and Office Support Associate to swiftly resolve any receiving discrepancies or problems.
- Enforce security by safeguarding backdoor access and managing key controls in line with company policies.
- Follow cold chain practices to preserve product quality, maintaining records via Receiving Temperature Log or Sure Check App.
- Provide training and ongoing support to fellow Directs Store Delivery Associates to uphold consistent receiving standards.
- Maintain flexibility to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business requirements.
Challenges
- Manage high-volume and fast-paced workload efficiently, particularly during overnight hours, by planning work schedule and sustaining energy and focus throughout shifts.
- Carry out physical activities such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting inventory or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Perform repeated tasks including stocking, zoning, and organizing merchandise with attention to detail and uniformity to maintain store standards.

Compensation
The starting pay rate for this position is $19.20 per hour.
