Role Overview
We are seeking a Director of Banking Alliances to manage and expand relationships with existing banking partners and onboard new funding entities to support our loan portfolios. This role requires active collaboration with diverse teams including business leaders, financial analysts, data scientists, and engineers in a multicultural and multinational environment. Travel flexibility is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison and main contact for C-suite executives in partner banks, maintaining and enhancing existing partnerships.
- Develop and nurture strong, mutually beneficial relationships with investors, ensuring sustainable funding flows for lending programs.
- Design and implement a strategic capital roadmap and investment plan to scale loan book volume and revenue.
- Leverage multiple capital sources including local banks, institutional debt, and development finance to optimize funding.
- Lead the complete cycle of capital raising efforts from sourcing and structuring to closing funding transactions.
- Engage directly with investors and senior leaders to establish effective funding collaborations, utilizing strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Negotiate and structure commercial agreements related to revenue sharing, interest terms, and other financial components.
- Innovate in deal structuring to address unique funding requirements and deliver effective financial solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 15 years of transactional experience in consumer banking and/or capital markets.
- Extensive personal network within banks and financial service providers across Africa.
