Job description

Role Overview

The department is focused on maintaining safety in Queensland communities by supporting victims and addressing the root causes of youth crime, especially persistent serious offenders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote positive decision-making by encouraging and reinforcing constructive behaviour to facilitate young people's reintegration into society.
  • Assist youths in understanding and complying with centre regulations.
  • Conduct activities tailored respectfully to gender, cultural backgrounds, and health considerations.
  • Serve as a reliable figure for young people seeking someone to confide in.
  • Perform routine wellbeing checks on youths during both day and night shifts.
  • Involve young people in meaningful and constructive engagements.
