Detailer - 12 Month Contract

Position Overview

This 12-month contract role involves preparing Honda vehicles to meet the high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and quality set by Honda Canada’s Product Resource Centre (PRC). The Detailer ensures that all vehicles, whether for delivery, testing, or internal use, undergo meticulous interior and exterior detailing, addressing any minor cosmetic imperfections to maintain the fleet in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Hand wash Honda cars, trucks, and other product lines maintaining care and accuracy.
• Thoroughly clean wheels, rims, and mudguards using appropriate safe cleaning solutions.
• Identify small dents and scratches; take actions to reduce their visibility.
• Assist team members in refueling vehicles as needed.
• Shampoo and vacuum carpets, seats, and upholstery within vehicle interiors.
• Remove grease and stains using specialized products and brushes.
• Wax, buff, and polish both interior and exterior surfaces, eliminating swirls and imperfections.
• Clean engine compartments using steam cleaning equipment to ensure spotless engines.
• Apply conditioning and preservation treatments on leather surfaces to maintain quality and durability.
• Ensure correct application and condition of stickers such as number plates on vehicles.
• Manage cleaning supply inventory, restocking items proactively.
• Support local vehicle deliveries and perform test drives as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop floor, work benches, and recycling areas.
• Carry out other general duties within the workshop as assigned.
• Undertake occasional travel and overtime work as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma completed.
• At least two years of experience in automobile detailing.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to foster positive working relationships internally and externally.
• Appreciate and engage in team-building efforts promoting collective achievement.

Additional Information

• This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position.
• The hourly wage range for this role is between $20.51 and $24.35 CAD, determined by factors such as education, experience, and skill set.
• The role requires on-site presence five days a week at the Markham, Ontario location with a dedicated workspace.
