Position overview

Cushing Terrell is hiring a Design Professional to join its integrated architecture and engineering practice in Austin, Texas. This role is aimed at candidates with 0 to 4 years of architecture experience who want to grow in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

What you will do

In this position, you will work with project teams on architectural design, project development, construction documents, and construction administration. You will create design and technical solutions under the guidance of a licensed architect and contribute to projects from early concept through delivery.

The work spans education, retail, and commercial project types, where both imaginative thinking and strong technical follow-through matter. You will help turn ideas into buildable solutions while learning across all stages of the project lifecycle.

Skills and tools used

This role calls for strong creativity, curiosity, technical awareness, and clear communication. Experience with Autodesk tools, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and especially Revit is important.

Required qualifications

You should hold a NAAB-accredited architecture degree and have 0 to 4 years of architecture experience. The employer is also looking for someone who enjoys sharing knowledge and working collaboratively.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and experience in education, commercial, or retail projects is considered an advantage.

Compensation

The stated annual pay range is $57,000 to $65,000. Final pay depends on years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors allowed by law. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Eligibility and work authorization

Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The company does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Work setting

This is primarily an office-based role with limited physical demands. The job may involve bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching at times.
