Role Summary

As a Design Director, you will be responsible for assessing the quality of real-world design projects by creating precise, task-specific grading rubrics. You will score completed design samples, providing detailed written justifications to ensure consistent and defensible evaluations across projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop exact grading criteria tailored for deliverables including brand identity, campaign visuals, layouts, packaging, and digital design assets.
Evaluate work samples based on these criteria, composing thorough, evidence-supported written feedback for each score awarded.
Use consistent and replicable evaluation methods to guarantee that ratings are uniform among different reviewers.
Incorporate constructive input from senior reviewers and rapidly refine evaluation rubrics and scoring methods.
Keep meticulous documentation detailing your reasoning to facilitate calibration sessions and peer review processes.

Candidate Requirements

Proven professional experience in graphic design, brand design, or visual design disciplines.
Strong foundational knowledge in typography, layout principles, visual hierarchy, color theory, composition, and brand system development.
Excellent ability to clearly and precisely express design critiques in writing, comparable to a design leadership level.
A history of consistently applying detailed and precise judgment in a professional design environment.

Additional Information

Job Type: Hourly contract
Compensation: $80 to $150 per hour
Work Arrangement: Fully remote
