Key duties

Skills and abilities

The role needs good communication, basic math, accuracy with cash handling, and the ability to take orders by phone, in writing, and through a computer or touchscreen. You should be able to work quickly, coordinate hand and eye movements, and make precise actions with speed. Comfort with customer interaction, teamwork, and working independently is also important.

Work conditions

This position involves exposure to changing weather when working outside, as well as indoor conditions that may vary from cooler temperatures to very warm areas. You may also encounter food odors, cornmeal dust, tight spaces, hot equipment, and moving machine parts. The role requires speaking and listening on the phone, close and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to tell hot and cold surfaces apart.

Physical demands

Most work is done while standing, with some walking over short distances and occasional sitting for paperwork. The job includes lifting deliveries of up to 50 pounds, stacking supplies on shelves as high as 72 inches, carrying items such as sauce tubs and dough trays, pushing loaded tray dollies, and occasionally using stairs or a ladder for store tasks such as maintenance or changing signs.
