Deli Bakery Team Associate

Position Overview

This position focuses primarily on preparing hot foods within the Deli Kitchen. The associate is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service consistent with Walmart's core values and beliefs, maintaining organization within the Bakery and/or Deli departments, and aiding in restocking and sales activities.

Key Duties

• Maintain neat and organized product displays by zoning shelves, tables, and storage areas to ensure products are correctly placed.
• Manage stock rotation and inspect products for expiration to maintain freshness and compliance.
• Verify that all merchandise is accurately priced and labeled.
• Comply with food safety and quality standards including cold chain management, calibrating thermometers, recording temperatures, handling food safely, and managing sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders for Deli items, prepare hot foods, and provide assistance as requested.
• Use appropriate utensils to prepare deli foods, including rotisserie chicken, and arrange side dishes for display.
• Prepare bakery products by carefully following thawing and baking instructions to ensure quality and appealing presentation of items like bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
• Adhere to established protocols for ordering, clearance, price adjustments, labeling, and signage.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.35.
