Data Scientist - TikTok Integrity and Safety

Role Overview

Join TikTok's team to harness data science expertise in protecting content, user experiences, and privacy across the platform. The role focuses on delivering vital data insights for safety initiatives, including protection of video and live content, account security, privacy adherence, and moderation systems, all aimed at enhancing user safety for millions globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain key metric systems tracking platform safety risks such as content violations, user reports, and account threats.
• Develop monitoring tools and anomaly detection processes for rapid identification and analysis of security incidents, supporting risk notifications and policy updates.
• Apply advanced statistical techniques including A/B testing, causal inference, and regression to assess security policies' efficacy, analyze experiments rigorously, and optimize testing frameworks for better evaluation outcomes.
• Create quantitative analysis tools to solve business challenges, utilize data mining for identifying optimization opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate analytics into impactful safety improvements.
• Enhance data analysis methods, develop reusable frameworks, and contribute to data product design to empower business teams with efficient data services.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in data science, preferably with exposure to internet or content platform safety domains.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, data science, economics, mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, adeptness with Python or R for data analysis, and excellent skills in data visualization.
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, familiarity with causal inference and A/B testing methodologies.
• Exceptional logical reasoning, problem-solving capabilities, and strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience related to content security, platform integrity, or risk management is an advantage.
