Role Overview

The Data Protection and Identity Manager will spearhead the strategy for identity governance across both human and AI/non-human identities and oversee the company's Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives. This role is essential in managing all identity controls, enforcing data protection policies, and minimizing risks related to credential theft, data leaks, and malicious activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and manage a comprehensive Identity Governance & Administration program covering human, service, and AI agent identities, focusing on governance frameworks for rapidly expanding AI agent identities.
• Implement lifecycle management for AI agent identities, ensuring secure provisioning, regular reviews, and decommissioning to reduce credential exposure.
• Apply principles of least privilege access and zero-trust across all identity categories.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of AI agent identities, detailing access levels and associated risks.
• Collaborate with AI platform and engineering teams to integrate identity security into deployment processes.
• Lead periodic access certifications and entitlement reviews enterprise-wide.
• Integrate human and AI agent identity management strategies.
• Act as a subject matter expert on leveraging AI agents to enhance enterprise capabilities.
• Own and evolve the enterprise-wide DLP strategy, policies, and tools to encompass AI-driven data interactions.
• Ensure comprehensive data tagging, classification, and sensitivity labeling across all data forms.
• Establish and enforce DLP policies for communication channels, endpoints, cloud environments, and AI workflows.
• Manage DLP exception reviews with documented risk-based approval workflows.
• Monitor and investigate serious DLP incidents alongside the Security Operations Centre.
• Provide regular reports on DLP program effectiveness and incident patterns to senior management and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 8 years in Information Security with at least 3 years focused on identity governance, IAM, or data protection roles.
• Proven practical experience in operating identity governance systems, including management of service and non-human identities.
• Expertise with enterprise DLP solutions (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Symantec DLP, Zscaler) and policy formation.
• Knowledge of AI/ML security, particularly securing LLM-based agents, APIs, and automation environments.
• Strong understanding of zero-trust frameworks, least privilege access, and privileged access management.
• Experience with enterprise-level data classification and sensitivity labeling standards.
• Proficient in stakeholder engagement and leading cross-functional projects without direct authority.
• Excellent analytical and risk evaluation skills, capable of translating technical risks into business implications.
• Exceptional communication skills, including executive reporting.
• Adept at managing several priorities simultaneously in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset, open to challenging existing procedures.
• Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, SailPoint or equivalent IGA platforms, plus experience with SIEM, CASB, and endpoint DLP tools in enterprise contexts.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or Microsoft SC-300 are advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical background.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

The position is part-time, conducted onsite in Shannon, County Clare, Ireland, requiring 40 hours weekly from Monday to Friday. There is an on-call rotation to address urgent DLP or identity security incidents outside regular business hours.
