About the Role
Our client, a global organisation based in Manchester, is investing heavily in expanding its data capabilities and is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to contribute to the development and maturation of their enterprise-wide data governance function. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and continuously enhancing enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Manage governance documentation including metadata, business glossaries, data dictionaries, and data lineage.
- Collaborate with Data Owners, Stewards, and Engineering teams to refine governance procedures.
- Define and document business terms, critical data elements, and ownership across various business domains.
- Support initiatives focused on data quality, governance reporting, and compliance efforts.
- Oversee management of data-related risks, issues, and governance actions to ensure timely resolution.
- Promote best practices in data governance among business and technical teams.
- Support and optimize governance tools while driving improvements in governance processes.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles.
- Familiarity with metadata management, business glossaries, and data dictionaries.
- Good understanding of data governance principles, policies, and control mechanisms.
- Strong skills in stakeholder communication and management.
- Excellent analytical abilities and advanced proficiency with Excel.
- Experience writing and using SQL queries.
- Exposure to governance platforms such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, or equivalents is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps considered a plus.
- Background in regulated sectors such as Financial Services or Insurance beneficial but not mandatory.
Additional Information
The role offers a competitive salary of £50,000 per year, coupled with a 15% performance bonus and a 10% pension contribution. It is based in Manchester with a requirement to work onsite two days per week.
