Role Overview

This position is a key analytics role focused on logistics and financial operations. The selected candidate will work with highly complex datasets, using advanced DMLSS knowledge along with expert-level Excel and Power Query capabilities to extract, transform, and analyze information. A major part of the role is supporting the congressionally mandated AFWCF audit with accurate, traceable, and compliant data reporting.

What You Will Do

• Work with DMLSS data by running advanced queries, extracting information, and analyzing logistics and supply chain records.
• Create data models that help monitor inventory, procurement activity, and operational readiness.
• Act as the primary subject matter expert for DMLSS data structure and reporting functions.
• Support the AFWCF audit with continuous analytics and evidence-backed reporting.
• Match financial and logistics data to maintain audit readiness and comply with FIAR requirements.
• Reply to auditor questions with accurate, timely, and repeatable analysis.
• Build automated data transformation processes using Microsoft Excel and Power Query.
• Combine, standardize, and clean large datasets pulled from multiple legacy Department of Defense systems.
• Develop scalable dashboards and reporting tools that deliver actionable insights to leadership.

Required Experience and Technical Background

• Strong, hands-on expertise with DMLSS.
• Advanced command of Microsoft Excel, including array formulas and VBA.
• Strong working knowledge of Power Query, including M code.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense or federal financial audits, especially AFWCF-related work.

Preferred Skills

• Experience moving older Excel and Power Query solutions into visualization tools such as Power BI.
• Familiarity with other DoD logistics systems, including LogiCole, as DMLSS evolves to newer enterprise platforms.
• Exposure to Business Intelligence Central Services and SQL for ad hoc reporting support.

Work Environment

This is an onsite part-time role based in Frederick, Maryland.
