Customer Delivery Driver - Aberdare Superstore

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco at the Aberdare Superstore, you will be the representative of Tesco as you deliver groceries directly to customers' homes. Beyond driving, this role emphasizes exceptional customer service, physical work, and variety throughout your shifts, which are never monotonous. You will mostly operate independently on the road, supported by a team back at the store.

Work Schedule

• Sunday: 18:00 to 23:00
• Wednesday: 18:00 to 22:00
• Thursday: 18:00 to 22:00
• Friday: 17:30 to 23:00
• Saturday: 17:30 to 23:00

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure all deliveries arrive in perfect condition.
• Safely load the delivery van and perform all necessary inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and readiness for service.
• Communicate with customers about any changes to their orders, substitutions, or short-dated items in a friendly manner and manage refunds to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Handle all products with care, treating every delivery as personal to preserve quality and customer confidence.
• Deliver orders punctually within customer time slots, offering warm and courteous service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

• Develop positive relationships with colleagues to foster teamwork and provide excellent customer service.
• Be welcoming and friendly with customers and team members alike.
• Adapt swiftly to changing customer needs and embrace workplace changes both on the road and in-store.
• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.

• Starting pay is £14.18 per hour, with higher rates (£15.45 per hour) in stores within the M25 area and possible additional payments at some locations.
