Job Overview
Concord Community Schools is seeking a dependable and conscientious Custodian for the second shift, working from 2:30pm to 11:00pm. The role involves ensuring all areas of the school facility are kept clean and orderly to support a healthy and safe environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners as needed.
- Vacuum carpets and mop floors to maintain cleanliness.
- Keep cleaning supplies well stocked and accessible.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and addressing small plumbing issues.
- Report significant maintenance problems to the supervisor promptly.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
The position operates within an educational setting. It requires physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, lifting, and manipulating objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 125 pounds. Tasks include using hands and fingers to handle tools, reaching above the head, climbing ladders, pushing and pulling equipment, and moving furniture. Visual demands consist of close and distance vision along with depth perception. The noise levels may be moderate to loud, and some duties may involve working outside in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License is mandatory.
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial roles is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
