Job description

Role Overview

As a Credit Documentation Executive at Maybank in Singapore, you will facilitate the comprehensive credit documentation process for corporate and commercial lending. This position requires close collaboration with Relationship Managers, Credit teams, legal advisors, and external parties to ensure all credit facility documents are accurately prepared, compliant with regulatory standards, and completed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Letters of Offer and Supplemental Letters of Offer for Business Units, responding promptly to their queries and requests.
  • Review bank’s standard forms, external legal documents, and Business Unit provided documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with bank policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Business Units, insurance companies, external lawyers, and others to guarantee timely completion of loan documentation.
  • Verify that approval conditions and precedents align with terms of approval before issuing compliance certificates in the documentation system.
  • Maintain correct updates of covenants, expiry dates, and alerts in the documentation system.
  • Authorize loan limits established by Credit Implementation after issuing compliance certification.
  • Follow up on outstanding documents to ensure full compliance, monitor expiry and event reports, insurance matters, monthly crewing reports, and condition subsequent and partial compliance reporting.
  • Withdraw documents from the documentation module upon redemption, discharge of securities, or cancellation of facilities.
  • Participate in ad-hoc calls with lawyers, Business Units, and other internal units as needed.
  • Prepare internal management reports such as monthly crewing reports timely.
  • Assist borrowers with loan redemption and discharge of securities.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and projects within the unit to improve productivity and service quality.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Team Head or Head of the Credit Documentation Unit.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Business Studies, Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Accountancy, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in corporate loan documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and resourcefulness when sourcing information.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently with minimal supervision in a fast-moving environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Experience in corporate loan documentation is advantageous.
