Creative Photographer

About the Role

Join Selfridges as a Creative Photographer specializing in capturing elevated menswear and womenswear e-commerce images, along with monthly editorial shoots. The position involves both studio and on-location photography and may occasionally require working beyond typical business hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced photography skills across diverse lighting methods to produce high-quality images for e-commerce and editorial purposes.
• Work closely with the Imagery Lead, Art Director, Creative Production team, Stylists, and Creative Retoucher to ensure compliance with brand guidelines and timely delivery.
• Collaborate with the Photography Editor to lead the Photography team in producing thousands of commercial and inspirational images weekly for Selfridges.com.
• Conduct daily e-commerce shoot sessions including Mannequin, Stills, and Model sets, which may comprise the bulk of monthly duties.
• Provide mentorship and support to less experienced Photography team members.
• Develop and update Photography guidelines jointly with the Photography Editor ensuring alignment with the Selfridges brand standards.
• Assist the Photography Editor in team development and training; coordinate with Imagery Lead and Production during Editor's absence.
• Continuously enhance the visual customer experience on the Selfridges e-commerce platform and provide constructive input to Creative and Imagery Leads.
• Occasionally shoot Pre-collections at off-site locations as required.
• Maintain a consistent presence at the London office, working onsite five days a week.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Possess a robust portfolio showcasing expertise in Fashion, Beauty, and particularly Still Life Photography for online and editorial contexts.
• Experience working with both luxury and high street brands.
• Proficient with Capture One Pro, including digital file management, styling, and color profiling.
• Experienced with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Video production skills are an additional asset.
• A collaborative team player capable of working autonomously when needed.
• Skilled in liaising with various Stylists and Art Directors to meet creative vision.
• Ability to reference a broad range of concepts that resonate with Selfridges' brand voice.
• Exceptional attention to detail along with strong organization and time management skills to deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
• Remain composed in fast-paced settings, effectively prioritizing and multitasking while offering practical solutions during shoots.
• Contribute to the growth and retention of photographers within the Studio team.
• Flexible availability to accommodate early start times and late finishes as the role demands.
• Familiarity with integrating AI technology into photography workflows is advantageous.
