Position Overview
This 1-year contract role as a Laboratory Technician involves assessing ingredient and product conformity to company standards, covering raw materials, work in progress, and finished beverage bases. The position requires adherence to both Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure high-quality outcomes and support business value.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical-chemical, microbiological, and sensory evaluations on ingredients and product batches to verify compliance with company specifications and quality systems.
- Execute approval and release protocols for ingredients, packaging, and finished goods, ensuring quality data is recorded accurately in SAP.
- Verify that incoming ingredients have necessary documentation such as Certificates of Analysis and pre-shipment approvals before final acceptance.
- Perform sampling of materials and products both onsite and at offsite storage locations as needed.
- Maintain calibration of all analytical lab instruments to guarantee accurate test results.
- Carry out laboratory testing on equipment, processes, and methods to confirm accuracy and repeatability through methodologies including process capability studies, control charting, method validation, and investigation of deviations or trends.
- Document and preserve records for laboratory protocols, test data, and analytical results in compliance with GLP.
- Manage inventories of chemicals, glassware, reagents, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), in addition to assisting procurement activities for laboratory supplies.
Requirements
- Diploma in Chemistry or a Food-related field.
- At least one year of experience working in quality control or laboratory operations within a food, beverage, or pharmaceutical multinational corporation.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is desirable.
- Experience with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) is advantageous.
- Proven capability in performing analytical tests pertinent to the food industry.
- Knowledge of SAP systems would be beneficial.
Additional Information
- Work location is in Singapore, with transportation provided from select MRT stations islandwide.
- Contract duration is one year with potential for extension or permanent employment.
- Travel requirements range from none to up to 25%.
