About the Role
This position assists management in supervising daily sorting, delivery, pickup tasks, and operations at remote domiciles or feeder locations where applicable. The team lead is responsible for guiding the sector assigned by ensuring best operational practices and setting a positive example for hourly employees by acting as a mentor and demonstrating strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills through established best practices methods.
Professional Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent educational credential.
- At least two years of current courier experience required for entry into this role.
- Preferred: Participation in a Personal Development Stream such as Excel.
Technical Skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of basic and recurring training including Dangerous Goods specialist certification, maintaining accreditation annually.
- Up-to-date training on Best Practices, defensive driving, and process improvements.
- Good understanding of company products, services, and operational standards.
- Physical capability to safely lift weights up to 70 lbs and handle packages up to 150 lbs with suitable equipment.
- Basic knowledge of company operations and Canadian Customs regulations is advantageous.
Interpersonal and Leadership Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to motivate, coach, and train staff effectively.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities efficiently under time constraints.
- Excellent customer relations skills with effective problem-solving, analytical, and organizational capabilities.
- Team-oriented mindset.
Additional Information
The position requires working Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Applicants must be able to operate within a PC Windows environment and adapt to varying shifts as per business needs. Annual training and accreditation maintenance are mandatory. If the employee resides in Quebec, bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.
Applicants must have driver’s license classes 5, G, or 1[AZ] with no more than two violations or accidents in the past 24 months. Candidates will be evaluated based on their driving record, interview performance, and any driver competency assessments.
