About East Asia Super League
East Asia Super League (EASL) is the premier professional basketball competition in East Asia, featuring champion and runner-up teams from leading leagues in Chinese Taipei, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Mongolia, and Macau. The competition culminates in a final four tournament each March to crown the regional champion, operating under an exclusive partnership with FIBA, the international basketball federation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entirety of travel services including planning, booking, and facilitating flights, hotel accommodations, and ground transport for league staff, teams, and partners across multiple Asian countries including Japan, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, and Mongolia.
- Handle complex logistics involving multiple countries, ensuring travel arrangements support league schedules and performance requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with service providers such as airlines, hotels, travel management companies, and ground transport vendors.
- Lead vendor selection processes, negotiate contracts and continuously assess vendor performance through metrics and traveller feedback to enhance service quality and cost-efficiency.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting related to travel expenses, applying data analysis and reporting tools to optimize costs and improve spending efficiency.
- Audit invoices for accuracy and adherence to agreed terms and contracts.
- Coordinate with internal departments including operations, finance, and events to align travel activities with organizational goals.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to manage travel-related updates, changes, and disruptions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with regional travel regulations, visa policies, and implement travel risk management including traveller tracking and contingency plans.
Requirements
- Possess 5 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate travel management, sports logistics, or travel agency operations involving complex and high-volume programs.
- Comprehensive understanding of Asian travel markets and cross-border travel logistics.
- Strong proficiency with travel booking platforms, expense and data management tools such as Excel and analytics dashboards.
- Expertise in vendor negotiation, stakeholder communication, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Experience in servicing sports teams, events, or multinational corporations is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and one additional East Asian language (Chinese, Japanese, or Korean) is required for effective communication in this role.
