Corporate Development Analyst

We are seeking a dedicated Corporate Development Analyst to join Toyota Tsusho America’s Corporate Development & Investment team. This position entails managing critical financial and strategic workstreams related to investments, mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and other high-priority projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee sophisticated financial models such as three-statement, discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout-lite, accretion/dilution, and synergy analysis, rigorously testing assumptions.
• Conduct detailed market and industry research, analyzing diverse data sources to produce actionable insights, recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership.
• Create board-level materials featuring clear narratives and executive summaries; perform thorough market landscaping including TAM/SAM/SOM analysis, competitor positioning, and regulatory environment review.
• Lead due diligence activities by managing checklists, synthesizing Q&A responses, and preparing issue logs with mitigation recommendations.
• Enhance processes, contribute to creating playbooks and best practices, and develop dashboards to track project pipelines.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications

• Two to three years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, transaction services, or strategy consulting, OR three to five years in financial services, accounting, or corporate finance.
• Proven track record in supporting transaction due diligence and constructing comprehensive valuation models.
• CFA progress, CPA certification, or MBA degree considered advantageous but not mandatory.

Desired Skills and Attributes

• Expertise in advanced Excel financial modeling and valuation techniques; proficient in PowerPoint for effective storytelling and presentations.
• Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end M&A lifecycle, transaction documents, and diligence areas including accounting, tax, HR, IT, and commercial factors.
• Strong analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, structured problem-solving ability, and intellectual curiosity.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with an ability to simplify complex issues.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Collaborative team player with openness to feedback and continuous learning.
• Capability to independently organize analyses, prioritize workload, and adhere to timelines.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate across functions.
• Sound business judgment to identify critical value drivers, risks, and trade-offs.
• Familiarity with research tools such as Capital IQ, PitchBook, and Bloomberg is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range from $98,197 to $127,657, with the expectation that most candidates will fall near the middle of this scale.
