Job Summary and Location
The Copyright Assistant role is based in Liverpool and is a permanent position reporting to the Copyright Manager. The position supports the Copyright Communications Team by managing clients’ copyrights and liaising with collection societies, publishers, and interested parties to administer copyrights globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to basic copyright inquiries from clients, other publishers, and Performing Rights Organisations.
- Support resolution of copyright conflicts and counterclaims.
- Assist with data enrichment tasks within the copyright management system.
- Participate in account audit processes.
- Support claims processes for works on online platforms.
- Help the wider Copyright Communications Team by managing related queries.
- Contribute to special projects initiated by the Rights team, Client Managers, or Director of Rights, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Provide ad hoc assistance to cover leave or workload peak times.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and a meticulous approach to work.
- Strong prioritization, organizational, and deadline management capabilities.
- Advanced numeracy skills and ability to handle large datasets.
- Familiarity with basic Excel functions is advantageous.
- Preferable to have foundational knowledge of the music publishing sector.
