Job description
Role Objective
Support the Security Superintendent – Investigations by effectively managing investigations via information collection and initiating appropriate criminal or disciplinary procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to Safety, Health & Environment policies including PPE usage and workplace housekeeping standards.
- Apply knowledge of criminal and corporate investigation methods and protocols.
- Lead investigations on all reported security incidents following AngloGold Ashanti Global Security Standards.
- Coordinate various security assessments—Self, Threat, Risk, and Conflict—as per company global standards.
- Manage screening, background checks, and vetting of all mine employees and contractors.
- Facilitate VPSHR training and oversee Departmental Human Rights Ambassadors' activities on site.
- Develop and sustain an intelligence function to provide early warnings about potential threats to personnel, assets, and operations.
- Participate in budget planning and promote continuous cost-efficiency measures within the department.
- Maintain comprehensive loss and investigation statistic records alongside a thorough case management system.
- Uphold ethical standards and corporate governance principles throughout all activities.
- Demonstrate capability to handle complex investigations to meet desired outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a relevant tertiary or professional security qualification.
- Hold a first degree from a recognized institution.
- Must have a valid driving license.
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable practical experience.
- Proven history of industrial security experience with at least 3 years in a senior supervisory capacity.
- Experienced in investigation procedures including statement collection, analysis, interviewing, and reporting.
- Experience in conducting security training or inductions for staff and contractors.
- Familiarity with tender opening processes.
- Experience capturing security incident data within SEMS systems.
Skills and Knowledge
- Desirable sound understanding of security practices.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and skilled in presentations.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledgeable in risk management, negotiation, and conflict resolution techniques.
- Demonstrates integrity and honesty consistently.
- Well-versed with Ghana’s Criminal Justice System, relevant laws, and data protection regulations.
- Analytical problem solver with ability to inspire, motivate, and lead others.
- Results-driven, innovative, self-motivated, and a proactive team collaborator.
