Role Summary

Excel Sports Management is looking for a highly driven, sales-oriented Coordinator to support the Properties division. In this role, you will help drive the full sponsorship sales process for major partnership opportunities such as venue naming rights, founding partnerships, jersey sponsorships, and priority category partnerships across sports and entertainment properties in the U.S. and globally. The position suits someone who is proactive, self-directed, comfortable in a fast-moving sales setting, and motivated to build a career in sports sponsorship sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Property Sales Executives and the broader sales team throughout the sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach to follow-up and pipeline movement.
  • Create targeted and imaginative outreach ideas that sales executives can use in market.
  • Use AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, and similar tools to improve output across research, ideation, outreach, sales strategy, and creative materials.
  • Perform detailed company and category research to uncover sponsorship opportunities for Excel’s clients.
  • Help secure meetings and calls with marketing decision-makers through persuasive outreach and timely follow-up.
  • Build polished pre- and post-meeting materials, including thought-starters, brand summaries, category overviews, and competitive analysis.
  • Coordinate with Sales Strategy and Marketing Solutions teams on pitch decks, proposals, and follow-up deliverables.
  • Contribute to advanced sales projects, presentations, and proposal development.
  • Track industry and business news to identify updates on prospects such as leadership changes, acquisitions, product launches, relocations, and other timely sales opportunities.
  • Arrange internal and external meetings for sales executives when needed.
  • Support client management workflows by assisting project sales leads, Revenue Operations, and Marketing Solutions teams as assigned.
  • Help prepare for weekly client calls by organizing Salesforce pipelines and drafting agendas.
  • Keep Salesforce/CRM records accurate, current, and complete.
  • Create weekly outreach schedules that help the team stay aligned to goals and targets.
  • Share weekly internal activity reports with the Property Sales Team.
  • Assist with client onboarding by helping build Master Prospect Lists, sales hooks, contact hooks, and Data Request Lists with Sales Strategy.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination between the Properties Sales Team and other Excel business units.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in sales or sports marketing; experience in a sports agency or property-focused environment is preferred.
  • Proven experience supporting a sales pipeline in a high-energy, fast-paced setting.
  • Strong interest in sales and a clear ambition to grow within a sales career.
  • Solid understanding of sports sponsorship, including industry participants, asset categories, and value propositions for both B2B and B2C brands.
  • Practical use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms to speed up research, drafting, and workflow optimization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and basic familiarity with Salesforce preferred; experience with SponsorUnited, ZoomInfo, or PitchBook is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $67,500 to $70,000. The position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Compensation may ultimately depend on factors such as relevant experience, tenure in role, business sector, and location. This compensation disclosure is provided in line with the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
