About Zupp and Your Role
At Zupp, our vision is to make adventure part of daily life, starting by rewarding college students for engaging in fun activities, or "side quests." As a Content Marketing Coordinator, you'll be the driving force creatively and operationally behind this mission.
Zupp serves as a discovery platform tailored to college students, offering exclusive deals at local venues such as bars and restaurants, and enabling students to earn points for check-ins redeemable for rewards. While successful in attracting a large user base since 2017, our goal is to evolve beyond offering simple transactional rewards toward more engaging experiences.
Introducing Zupp Quests
Our latest initiative, Quests, is a significant innovation—fun, time-limited challenges that encourage students to complete familiar college experiences with a creative twist and share their stories. Initially launching at UCF, this role will manage the successful rollout of Quests.
Your Team and Impact
This position is currently the only full-time role on our small but dedicated team of part-time staff and contractors. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll have substantial ownership from the outset, with your work impacting thousands of students immediately. We operate in a fast-moving, scrappy environment unencumbered by bureaucracy, perfect for someone eager to leave a strong mark on a potentially viral college campus product.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead creative development of Quests alongside the CEO, generating ideas, researching campus trends, and crafting copy that brings quests to life.
- Manage all operational aspects of Quests, including scheduling, building quests in our CMS, populating venue data, and maintaining a consistent content calendar.
- Supervise the student Quest Creator team, recruiting members, setting clear expectations, reviewing content quality, and providing constructive feedback.
- Moderate submissions by evaluating entries, approving points, communicating politely with users, and handling any necessary warnings.
- Publish quests through multiple channels including push notifications, emails, and social media coordination.
- Curate weekly highlights from submissions for social media features.
- Maintain ongoing content efforts: scheduling creative assets, updating deal content, managing the in-app feed, refreshing photo content each semester, and keeping the CMS organized.
Who You Are
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create engaging, relatable, and confident copy that resonates as human rather than corporate.
- Highly organized, able to juggle multiple tasks reliably within a weekly schedule and maintain smooth operations visible to a large student audience.
- Familiarity or strong empathy with college life and student culture, understanding what captures the attention of today’s college students.
- Receptive to feedback and committed to rapid improvement, comfortable with setting and following up on expectations.
- Operations-minded with a preference for keeping workflows clean and tasks completed on time.
- Proactive and resourceful problem-solver who seeks understanding before asking for help.
- Motivated by fast-paced environments where your contributions ship quickly and visibly.
Bonus Skills (not required): Experience with CMS, email or push notification tools, social media content creation, or community moderation. Training on current systems will be provided.
Our Values
- Activate Play: Deliver fun and fresh experiences encouraging authentic expression.
- Create the Remarkable: Develop extraordinary content that sparks word-of-mouth.
- Unleash Imagination: Embrace creativity and curiosity to solve problems.
- Empower Enthusiastically: Support independent growth and potential maximization.
- Care Relentlessly: Practice honesty, ownership, and a service mindset.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary ranging between $55,000 and $65,000 based on experience.
- 75% employer-covered healthcare including dental and vision plans.
- Unlimited paid time off with some restrictions during peak back-to-school periods (January-February and August-October).
- Company-wide holiday break from December 24 through January 1.
- Remote-first work environment with occasional team field trips throughout the year.
- Bi-annual career development discussions called "Dream Dives" with the CEO to align your career path with personal goals.
