Consumer Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Consumer Scientist to join our team at Liz Earle Beauty Co. within the No7 Beauty Company - Research & Development department located in Greater Nottingham. This full-time, fixed term contract or secondment position offers the opportunity to contribute to consumer research and product testing that directly supports new product innovation and development in the beauty sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute quantitative and qualitative consumer science research related to cosmetic products, utilizing scientifically validated methods.
• Conduct cosmetic product testing studies to support new product development and successful launches.
• Analyze and interpret complex data sets, translating findings into actionable scientific insights that guide R&D decisions and expand consumer understanding.
• Develop robust study designs, research plans, and comprehensive reports.
• Communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders, adapting the messaging and presentation style suitable to different audiences.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a degree in relevant consumer science disciplines or equivalent practical experience.
• Experienced with statistical analyses to uncover insights, build consumer profiles, and construct compelling narratives and strategic recommendations.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Proficient in creating reports, presentations, and dashboards to effectively convey findings to varied audiences.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
• Strong verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying technical content for non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

• Experience engaging directly with customers in consumer-facing roles.
• Familiarity with machine learning methods such as thematic, sentiment, regression, multivariate, or cluster analysis.
