Consulting Systems Engineer

As a Consulting Systems Engineer on the data management team, you will provide both strategic and tactical pre-sales leadership, offering technical guidance throughout the customer lifecycle including discovery, presentations, proof-of-concept, and solution validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted technical consultant to customers, prospects, and partners during the sales cycle.
• Conduct thorough technical discovery to grasp customer environments, business drivers, security needs, compliance mandates, and their decision-making framework.
• Create and deliver tailored product demonstrations, workshops, and executive briefings aligned to customer goals.
• Plan and manage proof-of-concept projects ensuring technical verification, clear business value, and successful adoption.
• Collaborate with account executives, managers, specialists, and partners to formulate technical sales strategies and support intricate enterprise sales.
• Align technology solutions with measurable customer outcomes including validation, competitive advantages, and cost considerations.
• Lead or contribute extensively to responses for RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
• Provide technical training and enablement for resellers, integrators, and strategic alliance partners.
• Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, conferences, webinars, trade shows, and executive briefing centers.
• Stay updated on market trends, competitive products, and evolving technologies to promote differentiated solutions and internal/external thought leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least eight years of experience in pre-sales, sales engineering, solution architecture, or similar roles with proven leadership in technical sales engagements.
• Ability to communicate complex technical frameworks effectively to both technical experts and executive leadership.

Technical Expertise

• Deep knowledge of enterprise architectures, including multi-tiered client/server, distributed, web-based, cloud, and hybrid systems.
• Strong familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and virtualization technologies including VMware.
• Experience with modern cloud-native architectures like LAMP stack, microservices, containers, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation, especially using Python.
• Expertise in data security domains including data discovery, classification, DSPM, DLP, SIEM, SOAR, governance, privacy, and compliance.
• Comfortable working with SQL, NoSQL, cloud-native databases, and storage-centric applications.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, governance, privacy, risk management, and security operations.
