Role Overview

The Compliance Officer ensures smooth operation of the schools' compliance program, overseeing regulatory, accreditation, audit, and governance requirements. Acting as the operational lead on daily compliance matters, this role collaborates with departments to maintain adherence to regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather data and prepare documents for compliance tasks including SWDA/ERF monitoring on premises, courses, teacher registration, academic boards, and annual returns.
  • Manage EduTrust submissions and site inspections, ensure student contract templates comply with SWDA regulations.
  • Promote compliance awareness throughout teaching and support staff, particularly regarding SWDA laws and regulations.
  • Support timely compliance reporting and submissions to SWDA and other authorities.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits such as EduTrust, addressing findings and corrective actions promptly.
  • Assist auditors during compliance reviews onsite or through documentation.
  • Support accreditation efforts linked to academic associations (COBIS, BSO, FOBISIA).
  • Provide compliance-related training to employees concerning regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Maintain compliance trackers, audit logs, and generate management reports as needed.
  • Ensure policies and procedures relating to compliance are approved, documented, and version-controlled.
  • Maintain centralized electronic filing for compliance and policy documents.
  • Manage student contract templates and oversee annual renewal processes.
  • Maintain vendor contract records and guide implementation of data management policies meeting data protection standards.
  • Support data governance initiatives including data strategy implementation, policy reviews, secure data sharing protocols, data audits, and adherence to data protection requirements.

Who We Seek

  • At least 3 years' experience in compliance, quality assurance, or regulatory roles, ideally within local private education.
  • Strong familiarity with SWDA/SSG compliance frameworks and regulatory issues.
  • Knowledge of other regulatory frameworks such as CIS and WASC is an advantage.
  • Experience with Total Quality Management Systems preferred.
  • Competence in data management principles, analytical problem-solving, and administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities to collaborate and resolve issues cooperatively.
  • Strong organizational skills with capacity to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Professional demeanor with discretion handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree qualification.
