Join the Tedeschi Lab at Brigham and Women's Hospital based in Boston to contribute to advancing knowledge and treatments for calcium pyrophosphate deposition (CPPD) disease, a prevalent but underexplored crystalline arthritis primarily affecting elderly individuals. This Clinical Research Coordinator position involves working across three interrelated projects: a randomized controlled trial comparing colchicine to placebo (NCT06855433), a longitudinal patient registry for CPPD, and a translational research study focused on bone biology's link to CPPD pathology.

Role Details

This position offers practical experience in clinical trials, patient-focused research, biospecimen handling, and lab techniques. It is ideal for candidates seeking preparation for medical school, PhD training, or a career in clinical and translational investigation. A commitment of two years is expected.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and engage research participants, primarily older adults diagnosed with CPPD disease.
• Manage coordination of study visits and organize accurate data collection efforts.
• Retrieve surgical specimens directly from operating rooms for study use.
• Handle and safely transport blood and tissue samples throughout the hospital.

Candidate Profile

We seek a curious, organized, and self-motivated individual who takes initiative in managing complex projects and mastering new methods. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, honesty, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential qualities.

Preferred Experience

Although knowledge in tissue processing, microtomy, histology, or laboratory research is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Intellectual curiosity, dependability, and rapid learning capacity are highly valued.
