Role Overview
This on-site, full-time position located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, involves overseeing the daily activities on civil infrastructure sites. The Civil Site Foreman is tasked with organizing site crews, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring tasks are executed safely, punctually, and according to detailed specifications. Responsibilities include interpreting designs, setting out work sites, supervising quality standards, and ensuring adherence to project plans, regulations, and standards. The role requires effective management of resources, scheduling, accurate documentation, and providing progress reports to project management. A key duty is promoting safety by enforcing protocols, conducting toolbox talks, resolving site issues, and fostering a collaborative work atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in supervising civil construction operations including earthworks, drainage, and roadworks or similar infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in analyzing and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in site coordination, managing work crews, and supervising subcontractors.
- Strong commitment to enforcing safety standards, conducting site inspections, and leading safety meetings.
- Competent in handling site documentation, daily progress reporting, and familiar with construction or project management software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil construction techniques, materials, and quality assurance procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Ability to solve problems efficiently and make informed decisions under pressure and within resource limits.
- Possession of a valid driver’s licence and readiness to work in diverse weather conditions on-site.
- Possession of a relevant trade qualification or certificate in civil construction, supervision, or similar fields, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior involvement in infrastructure projects like roads, utilities, or marine works is preferred.
- Holding a Construction White Card and relevant safety or industry-specific certifications is advantageous.
