Overview
Wychavon District Council, part of Malvern Hills and Wychavon Districts, invites applications for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join their team. This permanent role involves a 37-hour workweek with weekend and bank holiday shifts on a rotating schedule. The position focuses on managing parking enforcement across the district and its off-street car parks.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue penalty charge notices to vehicles violating Traffic Regulation Orders in on-street and off-street parking locations.
- Conduct patrols mainly on foot, moving between sites to ensure effective coverage.
- Monitor traffic flow in local areas to help maintain orderly parking and movement.
- Perform ticket machine inspections and assist community members with parking services.
- Operate across multiple shifts, including weekends and holidays, on a flexible rota basis.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a solid educational background, including qualifications in English and Mathematics.
- Exhibit strong motivation and excellent interpersonal skills to confidently and calmly manage sensitive or confrontational encounters professionally.
- Demonstrate effective communication abilities and the capacity to work independently.
- Have access to a vehicle insured for business use to patrol the district and surrounding villages.
- Be prepared to spend extended periods outdoors in all weather conditions, walking for seven or more hours daily.
- Be flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Show willingness to undertake additional duties and support other local areas when necessary.
- Bring experience from similar roles or backgrounds such as customer service, retail, or hospitality.
