Position Overview
We are seeking a Child and Online Safety Expert for a contract role offering remote work with flexible hours ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week. The compensation is between $50 and $90 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed classification systems addressing issues such as self-harm, suicide prevention, eating disorders, and emotional dependency within digital environments.
- Define best-practice benchmarks related to digital support and clinical safety focused on youth and adolescent mental well-being.
- Construct frameworks to detect, flag, and assess potentially harmful online content and advice concerning mental health crises involving minors.
- Create and improve clinical response guidelines and escalation procedures for digital interventions directed at at-risk youth.
- Collaborate closely with project leads to align evaluation standards and protocols with the latest research and clinical best practices.
- Provide expertise on policies adjacent to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and the dynamics of online exploitation to strengthen child safety measures in digital platforms.
- Communicate clear, actionable feedback verbally and in writing to support the advancement of AI safety tools and frameworks addressing child online safety.
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive experience in adolescent mental health, suicide prevention, eating disorder interventions, or related areas.
- Licensed therapist, psychiatrist, clinician, or mental-health professional who has hands-on crisis care experience.
- Proven expertise in clinical risk assessment and intervention, particularly within online or digital contexts.
- Possess an advanced degree, specialized certification, or equivalent practical experience in mental health or child safety fields.
- Experience in evaluating or enforcing policies related to CSAM or involvement in initiatives aimed at preventing child exploitation online.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for varied audiences.
