Role Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves as the executive leader responsible for overseeing Jetty's manufacturing, supply chain, and operational strategies. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO ensures alignment of organizational capabilities, infrastructure, and leadership with the long-term business goals. This role supervises operations at facilities in Oakland, Albany, and a third-party partner in Denver, driving growth, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the manufacturing and operations strategy aligned with corporate goals.
• Manage operational performance across Jetty's manufacturing locations and partnerships.
• Construct a scalable operating model supporting expansion and product innovation.
• Implement operational excellence initiatives to optimize efficiency, quality, service, and profitability.
• Oversee the planning, design, and successful relocation of Jetty's California headquarters, ensuring minimal disruption and healthy inventory management.
• Develop and institutionalize a scalable innovation and R&D framework, fostering new product development and commercialization.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes and adopt automation and technology improvements for scale-up capabilities.
• Manage capital and operating plans essential for scaling manufacturing for future markets.
• Direct supply chain strategy, including production planning, procurement, and logistics to enhance network performance and resilience.
• Steer financial performance of manufacturing operations, focusing on budgets, investments, and margin improvements.
• Champion governance with rigorous quality, compliance, and operational accountability standards.
• Build and mentor a senior operations management team, establishing workforce planning and leadership development aligned with growth strategies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline; advanced degrees such as an MBA are preferred.
• At least 15 years of evolving leadership experience with executive responsibility managing multi-site manufacturing operations.
• Proven track record leading manufacturing organizations through growth and operational transformations.
• Experience in regulated industries overseeing multiple production facilities or contract manufacturers.
• Demonstrated expertise in innovation management, product development scale-up, and R&D in manufacturing environments.
• Strong financial skills managing operational budgets, capital expenditures, and profitability initiatives.
• Success in building high-performance leadership teams and fostering talent development.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, operational excellence, and change management.
• Deep understanding of production planning, quality control, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
• Exceptional strategic communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at executive and board levels.
• Prior experience in cannabis, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or similarly regulated manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.
