Central Supply Clerk

Overview

The Central Supply Clerk is tasked with overseeing the inventory management of medical and general supplies within the facility. This role is crucial for ensuring that all necessary items required for resident care and facility operations are properly ordered, stocked, and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Place orders, receive, and organize central supply items including briefs, gloves, gowns, and over-the-counter medicines.
• Maintain precise inventory records and guarantee supplies are well-arranged and easily accessible.
• Track consumption trends and report any issues related to excess use or shortages to nursing leadership.
• Suggest new products or system improvements that can enhance operational efficiency and support staff requirements.
• Provide assistance to other departments regarding supply-related needs as required.
• Manage the supply budget and keep detailed records of expenses.
• Foster and sustain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Understand fundamental contract terms and utilize ordering software to process purchases.

Qualifications

• Preferred certification as a Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.).
• Prior experience with inventory or supply management in healthcare is advantageous.
• Basic proficiency in computer use and familiarity with ordering systems.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with effective time management.
• Good communication capabilities and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Physical Requirements

• Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching are part of daily activities.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull supply containers or carts weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Repetitive stock management tasks including shelving and organizing inventory.
• Use of supply carts, ladders, and other basic equipment.
• Mobility within the facility to deliver supplies to multiple departments.

Work Environment
