Role Overview
As a Category Manager focusing on the Rice, Pasta, and International portfolio, you will work full-time from Auckland, New Zealand. Your primary responsibilities include managing all aspects of the category range, pricing, promotions, and product placement. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you will lead efforts to grow sales, profitability, and market share.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the category strategy informed by customer insights and market trends.
- Curate and optimize product ranges, pricing strategies, and promotional plans aligned with the category strategy.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers to enhance the category portfolio and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all products comply with Australian consumer law regulations.
- Achieve financial targets including sales, profit margins, inventory management, and market share growth.
- Meet non-financial objectives such as people development and gathering feedback from suppliers, team members, and customers.
- Source innovative and customer-centric products that provide competitive advantages.
- Negotiate with suppliers regarding product range, costs of goods sold, and promotional investments.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Digital, E-Commerce, Operations, Finance, and People Departments.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record as a Category Manager or in a related role within a large retail or FMCG environment.
- Experience in crafting and executing customer-oriented category plans supported by commercial insights and data analysis.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills across all business levels and with external partners.
- Capability to develop industry expertise within the Australian market.
- Passion for product innovation and ongoing enhancement of product offerings.
