Care Support Worker - West Cork

Job Overview

Cheshire Ireland is seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to fill the role of Care Support Worker based in West Cork, specifically within the Peddlars Cross, Bandon, and Dunmanway community services. This permanent part-time position requires working 20 hours per week on-site, supporting adults with physical, sensory, and neurological disabilities who have medium to high needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily living activities tailored to their personal plans.
• Develop and maintain respectful, equal relationships that enhance independence and protect the rights of those supported.
• Work collaboratively within a team embracing person-centred, rights-based service delivery and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Participate in shifts across a 24/7 roster to ensure consistent care provision.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Possess or be working towards QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, QQI Level 6 in Social Care, or a Nursing qualification.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is required; candidates without qualifications but with relevant experience may be hired if willing to complete QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support within 18 months of hire.
• Available to work a full range of shifts on a seven-day weekly roster.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Eligible to work in Ireland, with a good command of written and spoken English.
• Computer literate; experience with online care management systems is beneficial.
• Possess personal integrity, trustworthiness, a positive attitude, and a commitment to continuous learning and service improvement.
• Full manual driving license and readiness to operate service vehicles.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pro-rated annual salary ranging from €34,763 to €40,418.
• Flexibility in scheduling with 20 contract hours weekly plus premiums for unsocial hours.

Additional Information
