Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled CAM Engineer to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Bengaluru. This role demands in-depth expertise in CNC programming, particularly with Mastercam, to develop and optimize complex 3, 4, and 5-axis aerospace component machining processes that meet stringent quality and efficiency standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Possess 3 to 4 years of direct experience in CNC machine setup and operation with a solid foundation in machining techniques.
- Utilize over 5 years of hands-on experience in Mastercam programming for intricate aerospace parts involving 3, 4, and 5-axis machining.
- Apply expert knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, and strategies to optimize tool life and manufacturing processes.
- Machining experience with aerospace materials including Aluminum, Titanium, Inconel, Stainless Steel, Super Alloys, and engineering plastics.
- Create CNC programs aimed at achieving Right First Time (RFT) output without programming errors.
- Design and iterate manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and process documentation for efficiency.
- Develop fixtures, work-holding, clamping solutions, and tooling specifics for complex aerospace components.
- Demonstrate proficiency in 5-axis machining, including toolpath simulation, collision avoidance, and understanding of machine kinematics.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T standards, aerospace specifications, and adhere to company and customer quality standards.
- Lead initiatives to reduce cycle and setup times while improving productivity and cutting machining costs.
- Assist in New Product Introductions (NPI), First Article Inspection (FAI), and process validation tasks for manufacturing efficacy.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems, conduct thorough root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive solutions.
- Coordinate effectively with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Planning, and Maintenance teams to ensure timely delivery and manufacturing excellence.
- Spearhead continuous improvement using Lean principles, Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and work standardization.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring CNC programmers and operators while ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards, safety policies, and aerospace industry best practices.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
