Role Overview
We seek a commercially astute Business Controller for Star Operations & Performance to collaborate with operational leaders in the hospitality division. The role is pivotal in delivering financial insights, cost and labour assessments, forecasting, and operational reporting to enhance business decisions and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver detailed financial analyses related to labour, overheads, controllable expenses, and overall venue profitability.
- Collaborate with operational management to provide insights guiding commercial and operational choices.
- Lead evaluations of cost performance, uncovering opportunities to boost efficiency and earnings.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
- Assess individual venue performance and advise on actions for improvement.
- Develop strong partnerships with venue managers and operational leaders to enhance financial literacy throughout the organization.
- Support governance, risk mitigation, and financial control measures.
- Participate in operational enhancement ventures, prepare business cases, and contribute to cost reduction projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an allied field; professional qualifications like CA or CPA are beneficial.
- Over five years’ expertise in commercial finance, financial planning & analysis, business partnering, cost management, or finance roles within hospitality or retail sectors.
- Proficient analytical skills and ability to convert complex data into actionable business insights.
- Experience engaging with operational teams and influencing business strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship management capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with systems such as SAP, Power BI, or equivalent reporting platforms.
