Job description
About Canada Life UK
Canada Life UK supports retirement, investment, and protection needs for individuals, families, and businesses. Operating since 1903 as part of Great-West Lifeco, the company is modern, agile, and committed to ethically serving customers, intermediaries, and employees while fostering a welcoming environment.
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our Wealth Value Stream team to drive strategic changes and growth in our Wealth business. Unlike traditional BA roles, this position requires active engagement in an agile delivery setting, collaborating with product teams, business stakeholders, and technology partners to solve complex problems, enhance experiences for customers and advisers, and deliver impactful business results.
The successful candidate will be adept at managing ambiguous situations, constructively challenging ideas, and translating strategic goals into clear, actionable demands. Strong analytical skills, commercial insight, and curiosity are essential to connect business needs with delivery priorities and customer outcomes. The role involves shaping solutions that create measurable business and customer value rather than just recording requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders across Wealth, Operations, Technology, and Change to understand business challenges and objectives.
- Elicit, analyse, and document requirements relating to business, customer, and operational needs.
- Assist in preparing business cases, exploring solution options, and making value-based recommendations.
- Map and enhance business processes, customer journeys, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Value Stream Leads, delivery teams, and experts to refine goals and priorities.
- Create detailed analytical documentation such as requirements, user stories, process diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
- Support testing phases, readiness activities, and implementation to ensure smooth adoption.
- Utilize data and insights to identify trends, confirm assumptions, and aid decision-making.
- Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, risk, and compliance standards while optimizing customer outcomes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, wealth management, pensions, investments, or regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with agile, product-focused, or value stream delivery models.
- Strong skills in requirement gathering, process modeling, and problem-solving.
- Ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional groups.
- Competency in translating complex issues into practical, implementable solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- A proactive approach with a dedication to continuous improvement.
- Comfort and confidence using data for analysis and supporting decisions.
Working at Canada Life UK
Joining the Wealth Value Stream offers a chance to influence the evolution of our Wealth propositions and customer experiences by working closely with senior stakeholders. You’ll be part of an innovative and cooperative team where your ideas and challenges are welcomed to develop next-generation Wealth capabilities.
