About the Company
Park Paving Ltd., a locally owned and operated business for over 50 years, stands as one of Edmonton's largest road construction contractors. We are seeking an experienced Base Crew Foreman to join our Base division for the 2026 road construction season.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the placement and construction of gravel road base structures.
- Measure and arrange for daily material requirements.
- Maintain accurate time and material records for daily job costing.
- Directly manage, educate, and train crew members.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
- Follow all company protocols and provincial regulations related to safe working procedures.
- Perform daily field-level hazard assessments as per company policies.
- Collaborate with personnel to discuss and plan daily project procedures and objectives, aiming to maximize productivity and workmanship quality.
- Inspect equipment to confirm proper functionality.
- Perform general labor and equipment operation tasks related to road construction as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership position within the roadbuilding industry.
- Strong understanding of construction industry practices, including road construction specifications and standards.
- Competent in checking and verifying grade levels efficiently.
- Professional and respectful demeanor toward coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
- Physically capable of performing tasks involving repetitive bending, lifting, kneeling, and walking extended periods.
- Prepared to work under varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, dust, and asphalt exposure.
- Reliable punctuality with the ability to work full-time, including overtime and weekends.
- Skilled in operating graders, loaders, skid-steers, and compaction equipment.
