Automation Playwright Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automation Playwright Engineer with expertise in Java-based automation solutions to join our team at HCLTech in Vijayawada, India. The role involves developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and ensuring robust end-to-end testing of software products.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium or Playwright frameworks in Java.
• Perform API testing utilizing REST Assured and Postman for validation purposes.
• Implement Behavior Driven Development (BDD) concepts using Cucumber framework.
• Use CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD for integration and deployment pipelines.
• Use SQL knowledge to conduct backend testing and data verification.
• Maintain regression test suites and apply automation best practices.
• Translate user stories into comprehensive test scenarios and cases.
• Design and take ownership of end-to-end testing for assigned features.
• Validate tests across multiple browsers and platforms ensuring cross-environment compatibility.
• Ensure complete traceability from user stories to test cases with clear coverage.
• Utilize JIRA for defect tracking and project management.

Technical Expertise Required

• Proficiency in Java programming language and test automation frameworks.
• Experience with API testing frameworks, specifically REST Assured with Java.
• Knowledge of API schema validation and authentication methods such as OAuth and JWT.
• Understanding of API chaining techniques and data-driven test automation.
• Basic familiarity with contract testing principles.
