Automation Engineer

Overview

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is a prominent IT services, consulting, and business solutions company with over 50 years of global experience. We are seeking skilled Automation Engineers with 4 to 8 years of experience to join our teams in multiple cities including Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Pune.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated testing solutions primarily using Python programming.
• Work extensively with Selenium WebDriver or Playwright for UI automation tasks.
• Design, implement, and manage test automation frameworks applying scalable patterns such as the Page Object Model.
• Utilize version control systems including Git for source code management.
• Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, or Azure DevOps tools.
• Perform API automation testing using Python libraries like Requests and tools such as Postman.
• Generate reports and dashboards using reporting tools like Allure and Extent Reports.
• Employ containerization and cross-browser testing infrastructure including Docker, Selenium Grid, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs.
• Apply foundational knowledge of performance testing tools like Locust and JMeter.
• Validate backend processes using SQL queries.
• Operate within Linux environments and execute shell scripting as part of automation workflows.

Candidate Requirements

• B.Tech or B.E. degree in any specialization.
• 4 to 8 years of relevant IT automation experience.
• Strong command in Python programming.
• Proficient with web automation techniques involving XPath, CSS selectors, synchronization waits, and web elements manipulation.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and behavior-driven development tools such as Behave, Cucumber, or Robot frameworks.
• Sound understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
• Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical challenges effectively.
