Overview
Join PwC New Zealand as an Audit Associate located in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton), where your work will contribute to building trust through high-quality financial reporting and thorough analysis across diverse clients and industries. This permanent full-time role entails a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing external audit assignments across various sectors.
- Conduct audit testing, financial analyses, and risk evaluations.
- Examine financial statements, contracts, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Prepare detailed and compliant audit workpapers aligning with regulatory and professional standards.
- Identify audit issues and communicate findings to fellow team members and clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to gather evidence, resolve inquiries, and adhere to engagement timelines.
- Utilize digital tools, including Microsoft Excel and audit software, to enhance data analysis and audit quality.
- Develop strong professional relationships while upholding judgment, integrity, and meticulous attention to detail.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least one year of practical audit experience, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Completed tertiary education in accounting, finance, commerce, or related fields.
- Familiarity with auditing procedures, financial reporting, evidentiary documentation, and accounting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or Reckon is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse clients and teams.
- Either current progression towards, or eligibility and commitment to pursue, Chartered Accountant certification or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
