Job description
Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Store Manager with daily retail operations, fostering excellent customer experiences, and meeting sales objectives. This position also assumes responsibilities as the Manager on Duty during the Store Manager's absence.
Key Duties
- Collaborate with Store Manager in managing store operations and supervising staff.
- Assist in merchandising activities, including stocking shelves and unpacking daily deliveries.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and address escalated concerns effectively.
- Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities to store employees.
- Handle cash management tasks and carry out store opening and closing procedures when necessary.
- Delegate daily assignments to team members while maintaining store safety and cleanliness.
- Conduct regular employee performance reviews and give constructive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and uphold safety standards.
- Maintain consistent visual merchandising standards throughout the store.
- Participate in hiring processes and oversee employee performance management.
Candidate Requirements
- At least two years of experience in retail settings.
- A minimum of two years in supervisory or managerial positions.
- Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership capabilities combined with effective communication and sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
