Assistant Project Coordinator - Civil Construction

Role Overview

Starting September 2026, this opportunity as an Assistant Project Coordinator allows you to aid Project Managers and Superintendents in managing Civil construction projects. The position primarily involves maintaining contract documents, assisting with estimating tasks, and supporting budget and schedule preparations across various contract models including Design Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management. Due to project site locations being difficult to access via public transit, having a vehicle is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update records such as purchase order logs, shop drawing logs, submittal logs, and plan logs.
• Develop knowledge in selecting suppliers and subcontractors and obtaining their quotations.
• Assist with defining and clarifying scopes of work for subcontractors and suppliers.
• Promote site safety continuously in alignment with regulatory requirements and the company's Health and Safety Policy.
• Participate in site meetings and contribute to resolving project deficiencies.
• Manage supply inventories by tracking and ensuring timely arrival.

Qualifications and Experience

• Currently a full-time student or recent 2026 graduate from a related post-secondary program such as Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel is advantageous.

Compensation and Location

Hourly wage ranges from $21 to $26, based on previous experience. This is a site-based role located in Courtenay / Comox, British Columbia.
