Overview
In alignment with our corporate objectives focusing on revenue optimization and enhanced tax compliance, alongside addressing challenges and opportunities within a dynamic business landscape, we invite qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to join us as Assistant Procurement Officers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily procurement activities ensuring timely sourcing of goods, services, works, and consulting services compliant with the Public Procurement Act and associated regulations.
- Develop bidding documentation for goods, works, and consultancy services as per the approved procurement plan, subject to review by the Procurement Controller.
- Prepare evaluation reports and present procurement committee documentation.
- Perform comprehensive market research to identify the most competitive sourcing options.
- Draft and prepare contracts related to goods, works, and services procurement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records.
- Generate timely periodic and ad hoc procurement reports.
- Manage tender closing and opening procedures, including preparation of tender opening reports using the e-GP Platform.
- Evaluate tenders promptly to facilitate supply continuity of goods, works, and services.
- Verify and match supplier and service provider invoices within SAP for onward processing by the Finance Department.
- Compile monthly and quarterly reports for the procurement unit.
- Prepare the Annual Procurement Plan in compliance with the Public Procurement Act 2020.
- Support logistical arrangements, including hotel bookings, conferencing, and travel coordination for staff, under the direction of the Procurement Controller.
- Provide secretarial support to negotiation and procurement committees as required.
- Review and update specifications, purchase orders, contracts, change orders, and related documents when necessary.
- Coordinate supplier meetings, site visits, and pre-bid conferences.
- Manage procurement processes involving competitive open bidding and negotiated procedures, ensuring departmental and Authority compliance with ZPPA guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum qualification: Grade Twelve School Certificate or equivalent (General Certificate of Education).
- Degree in Procurement, Purchasing and Supply, or related fields.
- At least two years of relevant post-qualification professional experience.
- Valid membership and practicing license with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
