About The Role

Join the vibrant team at Alex Heads Hotel as an Assistant Manager, located in the heart of Queensland's Sunshine Coast. This role demands a dynamic and energetic leader passionate about managing busy hospitality environments. You'll work closely with a diverse crowd of surfers, locals, and tourists, overseeing bustling bars, a busy bistro, and a premier gaming lounge, ensuring top-notch service and smooth operations.

Daily Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with local patrons, becoming a familiar and trusted figure within the community.
• Assist the Publican in maintaining efficient, safe, and enjoyable operations throughout the venue.
• Develop management skills by learning key aspects of the Publican's role while supervising an enthusiastic team.
• Proactively address and resolve operational issues before they escalate.
• Maintain high energy levels, excellent service standards, and a positive atmosphere during each shift.

Physical Requirements

This position involves substantial physical activity, including manual handling tasks such as moving stock, kegs, and deliveries. Candidates must be capable of performing these duties safely and effectively.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in bars, bistros, or gaming environments, ideally with some supervisory responsibilities.
• Motivated to advance into leadership roles, having learned from skilled managers.
• Possesses confidence, pride, and strong interpersonal skills to represent the venue in the absence of the Publican.
• Holds current relevant certifications including Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA/RSG), Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV), and an Approved Managers Licence as required by state regulations.
