Established on August 16, 2016, Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) is a Section 8 wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited, tasked with executing the company's CSR initiatives. TSF operates across Odisha, Jharkhand, Bengal, Maharashtra, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, employing over 1600 personnel and maintaining presence in more than 16 units. The foundation is dedicated to advancing sustainable development in India by embedding broad economic, social, and environmental goals in its programs.

Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager - Agriculture will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring initiatives related to Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Natural Resource Management (NRM), and farmer institution development under TSF's programs. The role emphasizes enhancing farm productivity, resilience to climate change, farmer income, and reinforcing Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) through sustainable agricultural practices and government scheme alignment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive baseline surveys, resource mapping, and assessments of climate vulnerability in targeted villages.
Develop village-specific agriculture development plans and outline yearly implementation frameworks.
Advocate and implement Climate Smart Agricultural practices such as Integrated Farming Systems (IFS), crop diversification, agroforestry, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM), Integrated Pest Management (IPM), and organic/natural farming methods.
Undertake interventions for soil health improvement, water conservation, watershed management, rainwater harvesting, and micro-irrigation.
Mobilize farmers into Farmer Interest Groups (FIGs), Producer Groups (PGs), and FPOs, supporting their governance structures and business growth.
Coordinate convergence with government schemes targeting agriculture, horticulture, livestock, fisheries, and rural development sectors.
Organize training sessions, practical demonstrations, exposure visits, and capacity-building programs for farmers.
Develop agricultural value chains, establish market linkages, facilitate agri-enterprise setup, and promote livelihood diversification.
Liaise effectively with government departments, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), research bodies, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders.
Monitor project progress, maintain Management Information Systems (MIS), and document outcomes, success stories, and case studies.
Prepare project proposals, annual work plans, and technical reports in a timely manner.
Ensure achievement of project milestones and optimal resource utilization.

Experience and Qualifications

0 to 4 years of relevant work experience in agriculture or allied sectors.
Full-time Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. Agriculture) from a recognized institution.
